Module 1: Introduction and aims

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the field of endocrinology and its importance in clinical medicine. The first six lectures of the course will provide students with the basic principles of endocrinology followed by a systematic look at all the major endocrine glands both in terms of their normal physiology and their pathophysiology. Teaching objectives will be case-led to illustrate the importance of endocrinology in clinical medicine. The course is supported by a full set of lecture notes including learning objectives. As regards the summer examination there will be 10 MCQ's and 4 SAQ's based on this module.
