Post 2 Hospital: St George's London SW17 0QT Trust: St George's Healthcare Specialist Registrar in Diabetes and Endocrinology Outline of the programme: Supervisors of the post: Dr SS Nussey Activity/workload: Population: Inpatient admissions : Medicine - 8865 pa Outpatient visits: New endocrine: 1561 Follow up endocrine: 3318 New diabetes: 1163 Follow up diabetes: 6038 Hospital consultants: A Albanese Paed Endoc, M Bain Paed diabetes, S Nussey Endoc, A Panahloo Diabetes, C Seymour Lipids Description of training: G(I)M - low intensity with 1 SHO and 1.5 HO with CCU, ITU experience and unselected take. Post-take ward round and routine ward round. Gen med clinic weekly. Registrar teaching weekly, audit meeting fortnightly, Grand Round weekly, X-ray meeting weekly. Endocrine - General clinic weekly, specialist joint Gynae endocrine, joint adolescent endocrine, Paediatric clinic including clinic at Great Ormond Street and long-term follow up clinic at Royal Marsden Hospital Sutton, MEN genetic clinic. Monthly neurosurgery, neuroradiology, radiotherapy meetings. Weekly metabolic investigation unit reporting meetings. Diabetes - Weekly clinic with excellent integrated dietetics, chiropody, digital retinal screening programme. Obesity clinics with surgeons. Particular training opportunities: Monthly joint meeting at Regional Neurosurgery centre at Atkinson Morley's Hospital Endocrine clinic with long-term follow up and specialist cases Obesity service including bariatric surgery Genetic endocrine clinic Specialised clinics at Royal Marsden and Great Ormond Street.
